Our Services
We proofread and edit a range of documents therefore the above list is by no means exhaustive. Please contact us for a quote if your document is not listed above. We offer Proofreading only service, and ProofreadingPLUS service. The latter includes copy-editing and paraphrasing. Our service consists of the following:
Proofreading:
We conduct a full review of your document by checking and correcting all spelling errors, grammatical errors, and punctuation. We will also carry out light editing.
ProofreadingPLUS (Copy-editing & Paraphrasing):
We check for errors (grammar, spelling, punctuation, syntax), inconsistencies (coherence, terminology, font usage, capitalisation, numerals), and repetitions. We will also re-write sentences in your documents in order to improve the presentation and clarity of your work. During this process, your document is reviewed and polished. Please note that we do not check for the accuracy of facts in your document nor do we verify documents against any potential lawsuit that may arise from author libelling.
Editing Process
Upon the receipt of your document, we carry out an initial check that allows us to determine the most appropriate editor. Your document is subsequently forwarded to an editor for work to begin. We proofread and edit your document using the default 'track changes' editing tool in Microsoft Word.
After editing is completed, we will return to you the following:

Original version of the document

Draft version - with tracked changes and comments made by the editor

Final version - with all editing implemented
Please note that all documents are destroyed and/or erased from our systems and network upon successful and satisfactory completion of all works. This is usually within 48 hours.
Submit Your Document
Sending your document(s) to us for proofreading and editing is simple. Just e-mail your document(s) to us on info@counselus.co.uk. We may need to contact you during the editing process so please ensure that you use an e-mail address that you have ready access to.

Before submission, please rename your document using the following format:
First name_Last name_Date (day-month-year). e.g. Mark_Scott_05122017. If you submit multiple documents at the same time or on the same day, please name the subsequent files as below: First name_Last name_Date (day-month-year)_document number. e.g. Mark_Scott_05122017_1; Mark_Scott_05122017_2; Mark_Scott_05122017_3, and so on.
After submitting your document, we will carry out a check on Microsoft Word to verify the word count in order to calculate your fees. We will send you an e-mail confirming the price, type of service and turnaround time. We will begin editing your document as soon as your payment has been approved.
